The Symphony Traditional Electric Fireplace/Stove (DS5603) offers the perfect solution to your supplementary heating needs. No venting is required for this electraflame fireplace, so you can install it in any location in your home. You can enjoy with or without heat! It features patented Dimplex electric flame technology.
With an average electricity rate, the unit operates for a remarkable 3¢/hr, while providing all the ambiance and romance of a fireplace. It can thermostatically heat a 10 foot by 12 foot room at up to 5,120 BTU. This portable, compact unit also features a simulated 3D fire simulation within a chamber to deliver the illusion of a natural, crackling fire. The flame uses slightly under 300 watts of power. When you choose to activate the heat feature along with the flame, the unit uses approximately 1500 watts of power.

It's recommended that you don't add the fireplace/stove directly to the flooring because the heat might discolor it with time. You can build a platform made of wood or brick to place the unit on top of it and avoid any damage to your flooring
