With the Rheem Tankless Water Heater RTG53XN, showers start hot and stay hot for as long as the shower is running, plus the system is much smaller than normal tank water heaters and uses much less energy.

The Rheem RTG53XN tankless hot water heater is an Outdoor unit powered by Natural Gas that turns on when you open a hot water faucet and turns off when you close the faucet, so the energy consumed is only for the hot water being used. Since there is no storage of hot water and thus no constant heating and re-heating of stored hot water, you're not wasting energy heating water when you don't need it.

Key features include: 5.3 gpm at a 45ºF temperature rise; electronic ignition to increase efficiency; remote control thermostat; digital temperature display; built-in electric blower to force exhaust gas outside; environmentally friendly low NOx burner; and a 3-year limited warranty on parts (10 years on heat exchanger.)

I will put this in my next place!!!! Hocked up my self best price i could find any place around me was better then 1000.00 dollers heats and runs like a dream would not go back to a tancked water heater February 15, 2010

Great product - Saves Money This unit replaced a 40 gal natural gas tank heater. Was not easy to install due to being an outdoor model, so piping and gas had to be re-done. The heater part was not that hard, did it myself. We are saving about 2/3 the cost for gas over the tank version. It does require the user to change habits some, like running the kitchen facet until hot before using the dishwasher. Another re-adjustment is not using dishwasher or other major hot water appliances when taking a shower. Once you break the habits, this is a great water heater. One plus fact is when you need to trickle water because of a hard freeze, you can trickle the "hot" water line at sink without using any hot water! This really saves a lot. We are using the smaller unit for one major appliance and it works very well for 2 or 3 people. Like I said, you need to slightly adjust to a few new methods. Will pay back very quickly for us, plus we can now have long showers! We have used it for about 6 months now and love it. January 16, 2009

Very cost efficient The down side of this product is that even though it says it's a 2 person model,I wouldn't recommend two trying to bathe at same time. If you turn on the water while someone is taking a shower,they get a cold blast! Over all though. it is a very good deal,saves money on the gas bill and is so far dependable. Have had it for almost two years without any problems. Very easy to install ( we did it ourself) and between the gas company incentive and the tax break for up-grading to tankless it didn't cost us anything! Have recommended it to all my friends.
