Excellent Product
Works great with my Garmin 378 GPS, Verizon/Motorola KRZR, 60gb iPod, handheld VHF marine radio. The unit has a female cigarette adapter. All you need are your DC chargers. Works even in indirect light. I'm impressed.
What I like is that it outputs 12vdc, and because all my devices have a standard DC charging cable, I don't have to worry about matching up voltages or connectors. Just pretend that this unit is your car's cigarette lighter. Whatever you can do in your car (except run a DC/AC inverter, see below) you can do with this thing.
Cool! It works even in indirect light. If it is cloudy outside, no problem. If you are in the shade, no problem. I even used it inside my house with just ambient sunlight.
It does NOT have a USB output port. Deal with it. Use your 12vdc charging cable.
It does NOT work with a DC/AC inverter. Not enough juice coming out to do the job. So you can't run your laptop on AC. But I didn't really expect it to. Just turn off your laptop and let it charge up with your DC adapter during the daytime. Note - I tried it with a 175W inverter. Maybe a lower-wattage inverter will work, but I can't say.
This unit does not have a built-in battery like some of the other solar chargers, so you can't charge your stuff at night. Not a problem, plan ahead. Get'em charged up during the day.
