Avallon 14,000 BTU Dual Hose Portable Air Conditioner and Heater - Slate Grey and Platinum

Let the powerful Avallon 14,000 BTU Dual Hose Portable Air Conditioner and Heater (APAC140HC) transform your space into a cool, dry, comfortable environment even in summer months. Able to cool down up to 525 sq. ft. of space without requiring permanent installation, this is the perfect unit for your home, office, or both. An additional heater function makes this a versatile unit you can use all year long. Mobility casters allow you to easily transport the unit to the area you need it most.

Unlike traditional models, this portable air conditioner features the exclusive InvisiMist Technology to ensure uninterrupted moisture removal in even the most humid of climates. When excess water accumulates in the unit's reservoir, the InvisiMist function will automatically begin working, first pumping the water from the reservoir through the connected vent hose and then transforming the water into a light mist before expelling it outside. This prevents your unit from suspending cooling due to a full reservoir; instead, you'll be able to enjoy continuous cooling and moisture removal.

    • Dual Hose Design:

Separate intake and exhaust hoses allow for more air intake, more cooling power, and a more stable air pressure, which all contribute to a 40% faster cooling rate than similar single-hosed units

    • Intelligent Auto Mode:

In Auto Mode, this portable air conditioner will automatically adapt fan speed and other settings to cool your area to your set temperature

    • 24 Hour Timer:

Program the unit to follow your schedule by using the 24 hour timer function to set it to power on or off exactly when is convenient for you

    • Dehumidify Mode:

Because warm air and moisture are typically associated, this unit has a powerful dehumidify mode that will remove up to 86 pints per day of moisture from your air

    • Three (3) Fan Speeds:

Alter fan speed and noise output by choosing between the three (3) different fan speed settings

    • Window Vent Kit Included:

Everything you'll need to vent your portable air conditioner through the window arrives with the unit, including easy-to-follow instructions

    • Exhausts Moisture:

Moisture is exhausted along with warm air through the connected vent hose, leaving your area cool and dry

    • Remote Control Included:

Manage your unit's settings from anywhere in the room using the included remote control

Avellon Portable AIr Conditioner This AC is wonderful. Took about 15 minute to set up -- very cold and the greatest thing is no emptying water -- it was a little more $$ than others, but it dispels the humidity/water out the window -- very different from others -- it has a little nozzle that sprays it and does not just drip down the side of the lanai. Love this unit and it cools magnificently. Buy it, you will not be disappointed. June 28, 2014
Just Installed the APAC140HC AC/Heat Pump Just finished a semi permanent installation for this AC/Heat Pump in my detached workshop. The unit is quiet running, but in heat mode you have to get used to the compressor running for a while to develop sensible temperature at the output before the fan comes on. Amount of heat delivered is good, although I would like air direction options other than pointing up for heating mode. Up direction air flow is fine for mixing air while cooling, but does not work for heating. My work around is a fan mounted up high in the room to move that hot air off the ceiling and mix it with the cooler air at the floor. It works. Not sure where the temperature sensor is for the unit, in the remote or inside the main unit itself, so I don't know if there is an advantage to mounting the control away from the main unit. I like the ease of assembling the pump system setup for handling condensation. It is nice not to worry about emptying the collection tank when cooling season comes around. The air filter is conveniently placed on the top back so it is easy to remove for cleaning. If there is one thing I am less than happy with, it is the design for outdoor air intake. I purchased a dual hose system to avoid wasting already conditioned air. The APAC140HC intakes a combination of external and internal air from the room. The back of the unit has a sizable grill below where the outdoor air hose connects. It does not come with blocker for the grill. This setup reduces the capacity and efficiency of the unit by wasting air you have already cooled or heated. The grill appears to be a safeguard against the possibility of someone installing the inlet cover on the inlet and overheating the compressor. I am advised by the manufacturer rep that covering the grill with plastic to stop the room air intake voids the warranty in the event of a compressor problem. March 25, 2014
