Stackable Washer Dryers: The Laundry Solution For Small Spaces
Stackable washers and dryers are an easy way to create more space in a cramped laundry room. They are front loading and don't have to be stacked, but stacking makes the front load easier to reach and is necessary in smaller apartments. Stackable laundry units feature the same amenities as traditional non-stacking washers and dryers but can be fit into a tighter space, such as a utility closet.
What Is A Stackable Washer Dryer?
A stackable washer dryer, sometimes called a laundry center, is a type of appliance that is designed in such a way that the dryer can be "stacked" on top of the washing machine. Operating much like any other washing machine or dryer, these units are ideal for anyone living in apartments, tiny houses or have limited space.
How High Is A Stacked Washer Dryer Unit?
While the height, width and depth will all vary between different models, the dimensions all tend to fall in certain ranges. The majority of stacked units will be approximately 70 to 78 inches in height. The width and depth both fall in the range of 23 to 27 inches.
The capacity of stackable units is smaller than full sized units, but not by much and can easily accommodate the laundry of multiple people. Even if you have the floor space for side by side units, choosing a stackable washer and dryer can leave more room for other things in your laundry room and is generally the most convenient option.
