A lack of space doesn’t mean you have to compromise. In our modern society, now more than ever, convenience is as easy to obtain and just as inexpensive when matched with space or size limitations, especially when it comes to appliances such as freezers. With built-in freezer models, many of which are designed for installation beneath pre-existing cabinetry, you’ll find yourself in a world of compact appliances that offer plenty of features, freezer space, and style without sacrificing what you need in an everyday appliance.
The key benefit of a built-in freezer is the space it affords you—both inside of the freezer and in your kitchen, bar, or RV. Maybe you don’t need an entire full-size freestanding freezer taking up space in your kitchen. Or maybe you’ve already got freezer space on your existing refrigerator, and you just need a little bit extra. Either way, a built-in freezer is bound to give you plenty of options for freezing and preserving foods and ingredients that you don’t need to use right away, giving you plenty of cooking flexibility whenever you don’t have time to go grocery shopping.
Prepare for Your Week with Frozen Leftovers
One of the unsung benefits of a freezer is that it makes the perfect place to store leftovers or large batches of food. If you find yourself struggling to plan and prepare healthy meals for your work or school day from Monday all the way to Friday, there’s nothing better than preparing a large batch of meals during the weekend. Or if you work an irregular schedule, consider devoting one of your free days to meal preparation. With the help of something like a crock pot or stock pot, you can prepare a large, family-style meal such as chili, soup, or enchiladas. Simply portion them out into meal-sized freezer bags or freezer-safe Tupperware before storing the cooled leftovers in a built-in freezer. If you have the space, you can even devote your built-in freezer to meals for the week. With the help of a permanent marker, you could label your leftovers for each day of the week and make sure that you and your family have freezer-ready meals ready to go when life gets busy.
The Built-In Freezer Advantage
Here on Compact Appliance, we have a wide selection of built-in freezers for you to choose from. The Advantages of a built-in freezer over a standard, free-standing freezer include saving space in your kitchen due to front-venting that allows them to sit flush inside of a cabinet or under-counter installation. Depending on your needs, we’ve got both indoor and outdoor models—the latter is perfect if you’re trying to outfit a backyard kitchen or bar. But perhaps one of the most important decisions you can make when selecting a built-in freezer—be it from popular brands such as Summit or U-Line—is what kind of storage space you’re after. Most traditional built-in freezers feature a swing door that mirrors the operation of most standard refrigerators and freezers. But another option is on the horizon: that of the drawer freezer, which features horizontal handles that pull out like a kitchen drawer. Depending on your needs, this might be the model of built-in freezer that best suits the contents you’ll need to store in your freezer space. Truly, the choice is yours; browse our selection of built-in freezers to find the one that’s perfect for your needs.
General Summary of Proposition 65
The “California Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986” (more commonly referred to as ‘Proposition 65’)
was enacted to ensure that customers be properly warned when a product contains a substance known to cause cancer or
reproductive harm. The law requires the State of California to publish and maintain (annually) a list of substances
to be available to the general public. Additionally, the law requires that businesses properly notify residents of
the State of California about the presence of these substances in the products they purchase, or that may be present
in their homes, workplaces, or that otherwise may be released into the environment. The specific list contains a wide
range of naturally occurring and synthetic substances including manufacturing and construction chemicals, pesticides,
tobacco, food-additives, solvents, household products, drugs and byproducts created from a specific product usage.
You may have noticed the below warning label on our products, or on products from other manufacturers. The warning
has become increasingly commonplace and oftentimes raises questions about why the warning exists, and what it means
to a customer. The warning itself is just one of many requirements for businesses operating in and/or selling products
to customers in the the State of California. The warning does not mean that a product that includes the warning will
cause cancer or reproductive harm, but rather it simply is provided in order to educate the consumer that a substance
may exist. A large number of the substances listed under Proposition 65 have been in regular use for many years
without any documented harm to a consumer. This is due to the low concentrations and minimal exposure that actually
occurs with these substances. Those chemicals, however, have been determined by the State of California to be listed
as potentially harmful.
I don’t live in California. Why did my product include this warning?
In order to ensure compliance with Proposition 65 requirements we have determined that all products manufactured by
Living Direct Inc, including products sold under the EdgeStar, Avallon and Koldfront brands, should include the
above-referenced warning label. This labeling requirements exists for all of our products regardless of the
location / destination to which the product is ultimately sold and/or shipped.
We believe that our products, when used as designed, are not harmful and as such this warning is provided
in order to properly conform to the requirements of Proposition 65.
