Very Good Buy for My Needs To take the hassle out of making menus, taking repeated trips to the grocery store, cooking and cleaning up the resulting mess, I've started buying my 86-year-old father nutritious dinners from a home-delivery service every two weeks. All meals come frozen. Not having enough space in my existing freezer, I needed a small unit to handle the overflow. This convertible fridge / freezer is ideal for what I need. It arrived well-packaged and on the same day as the first two-week's worth of food I ordered for my Dad. I had no difficulty setting it up. It was ready to be loaded with all 14 meals (each is about 5''W x 6"D x 2.5"H) within two hours and was a perfect fit. The unit makes no noise at all and keeps the meals well-frozen. I'm very satisfied with this purchase. July 24, 2014
Freezer/Refrigerator combo I bought this combo frig/freezer to put in my small RV to supplement the frig that came with the RV.. This item works perfectly for my needs and I love that it can be used as a refrigerator OR a freezer. April 18, 2014
Perfect mini fridge I was enthralled with the new thermoelectric technology, and wanted to get a mini fridge using the Peltier system for cooling. I bought a Coleman, because it had higher ratings than the other coolers available. Sadly, it lasted about three weeks before the internal fan froze up and made horrible sounds when running. And it only cooled to about 42 degrees in an office environment. Also, the external cooling fan was fairly noisy, and others in the office could hear it from some distance away. So, after I stuck it back in my garage, I decide to fall back to proven technology. I had seen the 1.7 CF fridges out there, but it was just too bulky for my space here at work. So I went searching the usual places for a smaller version (eBay, Amazon, etc.), and stumbled upon this Edgestar model. It looked ideal for what I needed, and would have no trouble getting down to ice cold temps for my beverages at work. I've have this running no on my desktop for three weeks, and I must say that I am totally pleased with the performance. Silent running, cold as a you-know-what (it gets down to 0 degrees F), and perfect size, I couldn't be happier. Now, to be fair, it's not a cheap purchase. It has a real compressor, coolant, and a thermostat, so it was a planned purchase for me, unlike the Coleman, which was an impulse buy. But compactappliance.com had the best price out there, shipping was fast and free, and it arrived extremely well-packed. Highly recommended. March 17, 2014
We purchased the convertible refrigerator/freezer to take on a trip. Our grandchild has medicine for a desensitization program that has to be frozen for him. This worked well for us to use in the resort where we stayed. February 12, 2014
