Edgestar Ultra Low Temp Home Brew Dual Tap Kegerator with Kegs 4.7 5 3 3
What a value! Shipped for free, everything arrived via FedEx in 3 days from ordering. The 2 taprite conversion kits plus the 2 corny kegs make this a great value. The regulator is a single gauge taprite. Includes a 5lb Co2 tank. The tower and faucets are stainless steel, what more can you ask for !?! March 1, 2014
Great product so far! I received shipment last Thursday. Delivered in less than a week of ordering (ordered on a Friday, got it the following Thursday). Everything came neatly packed and in one piece without a scratch or ding. All parts were shipped FOR FREE, nothing left out. Assembly was easy. I recommend going to the edgestar website. Dave in customer service has some great videos for setup instructions and tips. Sounds like Rob Cordry when he talks. All set up and home made imperial ipa is flowing nice, cold and carbonated. Five stars all around.. except that they stopped sending a manifold for the gas line with the two keg setup, instead they send a tee type gas line splitter. Not a huge deal, but if you want the two keg setup and only have one keg to run at any certain time, you'll want a manilfold. Other gripe is that in the edgestar video, Dave warns against modifying the beer lines from the keg to tap for any reason. To set up for a Cornelius keg, the first step is modifying the beer line for the ball lock setup. Definitely made cutting the factory fit wing nut assembly off of the beer line a nervous ordeal on such a purchase before it could even be deflowered (nervous about warranty now that I made the modification/ didn't want to ruin my toy before I got to enjoy it). Regulator came with a CO2 pressure gauge, but no second gauge to monitor how much gas is left in the tank. Can modify, but would have been nice to come off the bat with a 2 keg setup. I gave lower rating on the "easy to clean" category since I haven't needed to do that yet, so I have no idea. Seems easy enough if you keep on top of it. Minor gripes listed above are very minor considering how much joy this thing is going to bring me over the years, and considering the fact that this thing shipped for free with everything expected included and intact. Homebrew Kegerator I recently purchased this kegerator for my homebrew. The kegerator works great as advertised, and seems to be a quality unit. The conversion kit was fairly simple to set up, but I did have to go look up the set up/ installation videos to make sure I was doing it right (the included printed directions are pretty worthless). My chief/ only real complaint is this unit is very noisy! The compressor doesn't run loud, but the actual fridge shell makes very loud "popping" noises pretty regularly. At first I thought something was broken, but the manufacturer says it is normal noise from the plastic flexing due to temperature changes. I keep the unit in my kitchen, but the popping noise can be heard throughout the house. Overall works well and keeps my beer at the correct temperature. Fridge can fit both 5 gallon kegs, all the hoses, and I even keep my CO2 tank inside the fridge with no problem. The only other thing I wish I would have realized is that there is only a "T" splitter provided for the air lines, so both kegs have to be set at the same pressure. This is really only inconvenient for force carbonating or if you have two beers that you want to have at different serving pressures. Other than that I feel like this is a good unit that should hopefully last a long time. Cheers! January 3, 2014
